The Renfrew Center of Chicago
The Renfrew Center of Chicago, located in the suburb of Northbrook, specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and related mental illnesses. Programming consists of a comprehensive range of services including day treatment, intensive outpatient and group therapy.
The Renfrew Center of Chicago is located at 5 Revere Drive, Suite 100 in Northbrook. It is west of the Edens Expressway/Route 41 and east of Interstate 294 on the corner of Lake Cook Road and Revere Drive. Parking is located on the premises.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, The Renfrew Center of Chicago has shifted all Day and Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) to a virtual platform until further notice. All of our clinical leaders have been trained in using this platform, and therapist guides and patient handbooks have been rolled out. Additionally, to support prospective patients seeking treatment during this time of uncertainty, we are still offering assessments and taking admissions at our Residential level of care in Philadelphia, PA and Coconut Creek, FL.

Meet Our Clinical Leaders:
Ashley Moser, LMFT, is a Regional Assistant Vice President at The Renfrew Centers. Ms. Moser oversees the clinical and administrative operations of the Chicago, IL; Mount Laurel, NJ and the Charlotte, NC location, where she also serves as Site Director. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University. Ms. Moser has extensive experience in providing family therapy and clinical supervision, with a focus in the treatment of eating disorders and co-occurring mood disorders. She is a frequent speaker on the topics of body image, evidence-based treatment of eating disorders and engaging families in the treatment process.
Elizabeth Black, LCPC, is Site Director at The Renfrew Center of Chicago. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration — International Business, with a minor in Psychology, from Saint Louis University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Specialization from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Joining Renfrew in 2016 as a Primary Therapist and then as Team Leader, Ms. Black provides individual, family and group therapy; meal support; as well as supervise therapists and interns in her current role.
The Renfrew Center is pleased to offer a new, Virtual Therapy Group for adolescent girls and women in Illinois who struggle with disordered eating or who are working towards recovery from an eating disorder.
This online, virtual therapy group offers structured care in a web-based environment. Participants actively engage with each other to explore and understand the emotions and relational functions of their disordered eating and develop strategies to connect to emotions, improve communications and achieve recovery focused goals. Group curriculum is informed by the empirically based Renfrew Center Unified Treatment Model for Eating Disorders®.
To get started, you will need to have access to Wi-Fi and a device such as a computer or tablet with a camera and screen.
Participants must be located in Illinois.

The Eating Disorders Group is for adolescent girls and women of all ages who have struggled with disordered eating. Led by an experienced therapist, the group actively engages participants with each other to explore and understand the emotional and relational functions of their disordered eating and develop strategies to connect to emotions, improve communication and achieve recovery-focused goals.
*Ideal for those seeking extra support during their recovery. Group members are required to be followed by an outpatient therapist in order to participate.

Location: The Renfrew Center of Chicago
The Support Persons Community Group provides additional support during the treatment process to anyone viewed as a Support Person - siblings, parents, spouses, friends, partners, significant others, or caretakers. Attendees receive guidance from clinical staff and each other, while learning how to effectively communicate with their loved one and help them move forward in their recovery.
