Outpatient Eating Disorder Treatment for Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC Residents
The Renfrew Center of Bethesda, Maryland is an outpatient facility specializing in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating as well as the full range of eating disorders. We reinforce a sense of community by helping patients recognize shared themes and struggles. Programming at the Bethesda location consists of a comprehensive range of in-person and virtual options including Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient Services.
Outpatient services are also offered at The Renfrew Center of Baltimore, and Residential treatment is available at at The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia – Spring Lane, just a short two-and-a-half-hour drive away.

Welcome to the heart of Renfrew! Our clinical team is comprised of leaders in the eating disorder field who create personalized treatment plans and provide the highest quality care to you or your loved one.
LMHC, CEDS-S Regional Assistant Vice President
Ms. Purkiss (she/her/hers) received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining Renfrew, she served as the Program Director for an eating disorders facility in Orlando, overseeing the PHP and IOP programs. She has extensive experience treating individuals with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder, and related disorders. In addition, Ms. Purkiss has worked with various other clinical disorders including substance abuse, depression and anxiety. Ms. Purkiss has been with The Renfrew Center since 2018 and is currently the President-elect of the Central Florida iaedp Chapter in Orlando.
