The Renfrew Center of West Palm Beach treats adolescent girls and women struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and related mental illnesses. Programming consists of a comprehensive range of services, including day treatment, intensive outpatient and group therapy.

Meet Our Clinical Leaders:
Paula Edwards-Gayfield, LPCS, CEDS, is the Assistant Vice President at The Renfrew Center, overseeing clinical and administrative operations at the Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Ridgewood, NJ; and West Palm Beach, FL locations. A Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma and LPC Supervisor in North Carolina, she received her Master’s degree in Counseling from the UNC at Charlotte. Ms. Edwards-Gayfield has extensive experience working with adolescents, adults and families, with special interest in the treatment of eating disorders, women’s issues, relationship concern, mood and anxiety disorders, and life adjustments. A National Certified Counselor, she is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Oklahoma Counseling Association, Oklahoma Eating Disorder Association, and certified with the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp). Ms. Edwards-Gayfield is a frequent presenter at local and national conferences, primarily discussing eating disorders and diversity.
Irina Gelman, PsyD, is the Site Director at The Renfrew Center of West Palm Beach. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University and her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Gelman specializes in the treatment of eating disorders at all levels of care from inpatient, residential, partial/day, IOP, and outpatient. She joined The Renfrew Center of Coconut Creek, FL as a Psych Tech in 2013 and later completed her clinical internship with Renfrew from 2015-2016. She then moved to Virginia where she worked at Dominion Hospital as a Primary Therapist and a Program Manager. Recently moving back to Florida, Dr. Gelman has returned to her roots with Renfrew. She is a member of the South Florida chapter of iaedp.
Jodi K. Weissman, ARNP, PMHCNS, PhD, is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at The Renfrew Centers of Coconut Creek and West Palm Beach, FL with extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Binghamton University, New York, her Master’s degree in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University and her Doctoral degree in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College. Dr. Weissman has been with Renfrew for 21 years and has been in private practice for 23 years in Boca Raton, Florida, specializing in individual and family psychotherapy and medication management for children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders, ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, OCD, and trauma. She believes in empowering individuals to reach their full potential in life.
We are pleased to announce that The Renfrew Center of West Palm Beach is now in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross New Directions, Cigna, Humana, and United Behavioral Health.
Renfrew is dedicated to providing coverage to as many patients seeking treatment as possible, and we are continuously adding new insurance contracts. With the addition of Aetna, Cigna, Humana, and United Behavioral Health in the West Palm Beach area, we will now be able to provide care to more adolescent girls and women seeking treatment for eating disorders.
Accepting more than 430 insurance plans across the country, The Renfrew Center has contracts with almost every managed care company for all levels of treatment and is a preferred provider for many insurance companies.
The Renfrew Center is pleased to offer a new, Virtual Therapy Group for adolescent girls and women in Florida who struggle with disordered eating or who are working towards recovery from an eating disorder.
This online, virtual therapy group offers structured care in a web-based environment. Participants actively engage with each other to explore and understand the emotions and relational functions of their disordered eating and develop strategies to connect to emotions, improve communications and achieve recovery focused goals. Group curriculum is informed by the empirically based Renfrew Center Unified Treatment Model for Eating Disorders®.
To get started, you will need to have access to Wi-Fi and a device such as a computer or tablet with a camera and screen.
Participants must be located in Florida.

Women Supporting Women
This group is for adolescent girls and women of all ages who have struggled with disordered eating.
The group actively engages participants with each other to explore and understand the emotional and relational functions of their disordered eating and develop strategies to connect to emotions, improve communication and achieve recovery-focused goals.
Ideal for those seeking extra support during their recovery.
