Held Online
Effective treatment for diverse eating disorder clients requires cultural humility, assessment modification, and a decolonized framework. This webinar will guide attendees in distinguishing disordered behaviors from culturally normative practices, examining the influence of identity and community pressures, and recognizing the historical exclusion of BIPOC individuals from eating disorder research.
Participants will learn to apply adapted assessments, utilize narrative exploration of food traditions, and incorporate identity-affirming interventions to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. By the end of the presentation, attendees will be prepared to center clients’ lived experiences and identify ways to challenge systemic biases within ED care.
