The Renfrew Center of Northern New Jersey, located in Paramus close to transit routes in Bergen County, provides compassionate, evidence-based outpatient treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, ARFID, and the full spectrum of eating disorders. Our program offers a welcoming, inclusive environment where patients feel supported and understood.  

In addition to core treatment, we offer specialized breakout groups, including a drama therapy group and an outpatient group for Jewish individuals. Our experienced clinical team includes a dedicated trauma specialist, staff members with lived experience, and team members from the Orthodox Jewish community, bringing both cultural sensitivity and deep local knowledge to the care we provide. 

We offer a full range of programming tailored to each patient’s needs, including: 

• Day Treatment (PHP) – Intensive, structured eating disorder outpatient programming five days a week, with patients returning to their home in the evenings. 
• Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – Flexible care three times a week, ideal for step-down support or more support than outpatient treatment. 
• Outpatient Services – Outpatient therapy (short-term), outpatient therapy groups, support groups. 

Our multidisciplinary team includes therapists, dietitians, and medical professionals who deliver care through The Renfrew Center’s Unified Treatment Model for Eating Disorders®, an evidence-based, transdiagnostic approach grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and relational-cultural principles. This model is part of the Oxford University Press Treatments That Work series. We also provide expressive therapies, nutrition therapy and actively involve families and loved ones in the healing process. 

For patients needing a higher level of care, residential treatment is available at The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia – Spring Lane, just under two hours from Paramus, and The Renfrew Center of Florida. Outpatient services are also available at The Renfrew Centers of New York City and Southern New Jersey (Mt. Laurel).
