Programming at our Philadelphia location consists of residential treament and specialized treatment tracks. Philadelphia Outpatient Services are offered at both our Radnor, PA and Mount Laurel, NJ locations.

Meet our Clinical Team:

Susan Ice, MD is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of The Renfrew Center. She received her doctorate of medicine from Johns Hopkins University, completed her internal medicine residency at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston and her psychiatry residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. She is the Founder and former Director of the Belmont Center Eating Disorders Program, is on the Advisory Council for Cigna National Healthcare and is a board member of both AABA and Beacon Health Options Signature. A Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Society and a “Top Doctor” in Philadelphia Magazine for several years, Dr. Ice has appeared on the Today Show and 20/20. She has been published in The Renfrew Center Foundation’s professional journal, Perspectives, and The Johns Hopkins Medical Journal. Dr. Ice has presented at numerous local and national conferences on topics related to the treatment of eating disorders and the complex patient.

David Hahn, MD is Medical Director at The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia. He received his doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed his psychiatry residency at The Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital. Dr. Hahn is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and Board Certified in Psychiatry. He has been with The Renfrew Center since 1997, where he began as a staff psychiatrist, specializing in residential treatment for adolescents and women in midlife struggling with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. Dr. Hahn frequently lectures at local medical schools and supervises psychiatrists in training. 


Trish Lieberman, MS, RD, LDN
 is Director of Nutrition at The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia. She received her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition at La Salle University and her Masters’ Degree in Nutrition Science at Drexel University. As a registered dietitian and nutrition therapist, Ms. Lieberman specializes in diabetes education as well as the treatment of adolescents with eating disorders. She has collaborated with and trained under the direction of well-established physicians and dietitians in both fields. In addition to her media appearances to increase awareness of eating disorders she teaches an undergraduate nutrition course for nursing students.

Who: Open to the public 

This group is open to the public and attended by current, former and prospective patients, as well as their friends, partners and family members. The facilitator is an experienced therapist who emphasizes the healing power of families and other key relationships in the process of their loved one’s recovery. The open discussion focuses on the influence of family communication styles and roles in eating disorder treatment.   

**PLEASE NOTE: The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia is pleased to announce Family Days for our current residents and their families. Because of this special program, the Sunday MFG during these days, will be cancelled.
