Food Trends and Positive Body Image:
Creating a Healthy Relationship with Eating and Your Body

From clean eating to juice cleanses, from negative self-talk to the quest for perfection, nutrition myths and body dissatisfaction abound in our culture...

This workshop offers an explanation of why so-called “healthy” diets may be appealing and examines the often-unintended consequences of buying into their messages. Common nutrition and diet myths will be discussed and the concept of self-compassion to enhance body acceptance will be explored.

Attendees will receive tips for themselves and loved ones in decoding media messages that seek to motivate potential consumers by making them feel insecure about their bodies.

Facilitated by our staff dietitian, Jess Berens, RD and clinician, Courtney Newton, LCSWA, this workshop will conclude with an interactive question and answer session.

Light refreshments will be served.
