The Renfrew Center of Charlotte specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, EDNOS, binge eating disorder, and related mental illnesses. Programming consists of a comprehensive range of services, including day treatment, intensive outpatient and group therapy.

The Renfrew Center of Charlotte is located in the Colony on Fairview office park at 6633 Fairview Road in the South Park area, near the intersection of Sharon Road and Fairview Road. Parking is available adjacent to the building with handicap access. Public transportation is accessible within walking distance from the site.


Announcements:

The Renfrew Center of Charlotte is now offering an eating disorder group and a group for adolescents.

The Eating Disorder Group will empower participants to understand how their feelings, actions and thoughts impact their relationship with food. Patients will work to identify and address issues that underlie their eating behaviors and explore new ways to deal with old problems. 

This group will be led by Rachel Dunning, LPC at The Renfrew Center of Charlotte. Participants may enter the group at any time and the referral process is streamlined and quick to complete. 

Date: Meets weekly on Monday evenings
Time: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Location: The Renfrew Center of Charlotte
Cost: $60 (may be covered by insurance depending upon the plan benefits)

The Adolescent Group provides an encouraging environment for young women struggling with disordered eating.  In a warm, nurturing environment, participants will feel understood, supported, as well as challenged, as they work toward a healthy relationship with food and their own bodies.

This group will be led by Juliet Kuehnle, LPCA; Deborah Gray, LPCA and Paula Edwards-Gayfield, LPCS at The Renfrew Center of Charlotte. Participants may enter the group at any time and the referral process is streamlined and quick to complete.

Time: 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

The Emotional Eating Group provides a safe and supportive environment in which women can explore the emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal factors influencing their eating behaviors and the feelings, thoughts, and beliefs about their bodies. While focusing on a change in eating behavior from eating without regard to eating mindfully and to satiety, employing hunger and satiety cues, this group also addresses issues related to family, work, relationships, and phase of life so that individuals can explore lifestyle changes that promote recovery.

This group will be led by Ashley Sheil, LMFT at The Renfrew Center of Charlotte. Participants may enter the group at any time and the referral process is streamlined and quick to complete.
