Barbie has long been questioned on her effect to children’s body image and self-esteem that they develop as they grow. Some research has shown that children that play with Barbies have skewed expectations for what their body should look like. Will the new movie reimagine Barbie or will she continue to  influence unrealistic and unattainable body image? The Renfrew Center’s, Kristin Szostak, MA, LPC, joins PHL 17 to discuss.
