The Renfrew Center of Charlotte is hosting a free workshop for individuals ages 13 and above who are interested in learning more about emotional eating.
Through a psychotherapeutic, experiential approach to self-care, attendees will:
- Learn tools needed to shift their focus from emotional eating to mindful eating by employing hunger and satiety cues.
- Explore the physiological and psychological factors that influence their eating behaviors.
- Discuss concerns associated with emotional eating around the holiday season.
This virtual event will be held via Zoom. A link will be emailed to registered attendees prior to the event.

About the Facilitator
Ava Pollack, MA, LCMHC, is a Primary Therapist and Alumni Representative for The Renfrew Center of Charlotte. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Baruch College. Ms. Pollack has experience working with adolescents and adults struggling with various eating disorder presentations (restriction, bingeing, purging, over-exercising, ARFID, orthorexia, etc.), body image concerns, depression, anxiety, OCD, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and trauma. Additionally, she volunteered with the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) and has presented on the topics of body image, social media and emotional eating to both the professionals and the community.
