About the Training
This continuing education presentation will explore the assessment, treatment, and challenges of lesser-known and unofficial eating disorders. Attendees will learn the distinctions between eating disorders and disordered eating, as well as risk factors and key symptoms of OSFED (i.e., atypical anorexia and night eating syndrome), ARFID, orthorexia, diabulimia, food and alcohol disturbance, and unique eating issues in athletes.
The session will cover assessment tools, current research, and treatment approaches, including levels of care and the expansion of traditional interdisciplinary teams. A focus will be placed on transdiagnostic tools to target emotional avoidance alongside valuable resources for mental health professionals.

About the Presenters
Dr. Samantha DeCaro, PsyD is the Director of Clinical Outreach & Education for The Renfrew Center, a licensed psychologist, and the co-host of the podcast All Bodies. All Foods. As Renfrew’s national spokesperson, Dr. DeCaro has been featured as an eating disorder expert on various news programs, podcasts, and online publications.
