About the Training

Undoubtedly, the transition into parenthood can be a stressful life event. Individuals with eating disorders are at a risk for relapse during the postpartum period and are more likely to meet criteria for a perinatal mood disorder, yet regular screening for Eds during postpartum is uncommon in routine obstetrical care.

This 2CE presentation will focus on the postpartum period and the obstacles that may arise navigating recovery from an eating disorder. It will further demonstrate how to best prepare and plan appropriate treatment goals and interventions for individuals with eating disorders during the postpartum period to help decrease Perinatal or Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD) and relapse risk.
