I began working at Renfrew in 1992 as a Counselor at the Spring Lane residential site, and I soon became a Primary Therapist. Through the years, I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to learn from a wide variety of brilliant, creative and talented professionals in a spirit of teamwork that transforms us, as well as those we serve. It is a privilege to be invited into the hallowed space between family members, as they open a new dialogue with each other, as we help foster change from the struggle of recovery. Bearing witness to this courage is a humbling experience.

Primary Therapist,
The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia – Spring Lane

I started with The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia in 2012 as the Manager of Aftercare and Utilization Review, with a promotion to Director in 2017. Over the past 9 years, I have witnessed the exemplary care provided to Renfrew patients. What I have consistently valued about my role, is supporting initiatives that promote facilitating the smooth transition of patients from residential treatment to supportive aftercare programs. The multidisciplinary collaborations at Renfrew, have been the cornerstone of the success within the organization.

Over the past 24+ years, I have experienced career growth and job satisfaction by choosing to embrace the opportunities that The Renfrew Center offers. Staying challenged and interested after so long with one business is not only possible, but it is also incredibly rewarding. I have been fortunate to be part of building a team that shares values—we make a difference, we are passionate, we value determination, we enjoy what we do, and we work as a team.

Rose Armstrong
Senior Human Resources Compliance Specialist

Joining the Renfrew family in 2007, I have had career advancement opportunities that have allowed me to experience both the Nursing and Human Resources fields. In the last thirteen years, I have seen many employees receive promotions or grow their careers by transferring to different departments. Renfrew has a great Employee Appreciation Committee (EAC) that holds an event each month to recognize the work that we all do to help our patients. Additionally, Renfrew’s paid time off and sick time packages are very generous.

Human Resources Administrative Assistant,
The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia, PA

I have had many opportunities within the organization to grow professionally and personally, having started as a Unit Secretary at The Renfrew Center of Coconut Creek, FL in 1990 and being promoted through various roles. I had several mentors throughout my tenure at Renfrew and respect their leadership and guidance. I would not be at Renfrew for 30 years if I did not believe in the work being done as a family-owned organization, but also the environment of women caring for women.

Ruth Cotto-Rhynes
Senior Regional Office Manager,
The Renfrew Center of Charlotte, NC

I started with The Renfrew Center of Radnor in September 2020 as an intern, with the promotion of PRN therapist in July 2021 and then shifted to Primary Therapist in January 2022. During my time at Renfrew, I have been honored to be a part of a team that goes above and beyond to provide the best practice and clinical care for its patients. The team comradery has been greatly cherished, along with the warmth and connection from our entire community. In June 2022, I had the opportunity to take on the role of our site’s Alumni Coordinator as well as Aftercare Group facilitator. I have valued every moment of staying connected with our patients post-discharge and assisting them in a smooth and supportive transition. By continuing to foster this therapeutic and peer connection at the outpatient level, this ongoing structure of support enriches my clinical work and passion for serving our community at all levels of care.
