Sam Menaged founded The Renfrew Center in 1985 as the country’s first residential eating disorder facility dedicated exclusively to the treatment of adolescent girls and women. In 1990, he opened a second residential facility in Coconut Creek, FL. Now with 19 facilitates throughout the country, Renfrew has treated more than 85,000 women and trained more than 40,000 professionals. 

The Renfrew Center continues to be a family-owned business with Sam as President and CEO, his wife Pamela working in Patient Accounts, and his daughter Vanessa as Vice President of Professional Relations and Marketing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Overall function of the front office to include answering phones, filing, scheduling patient appointments, and collecting pays and/or other necessary fees related to treatment.

  • Completes a comprehensive nutritional assessment on each patient upon admission.

  • Prepares individualized meal plans that consider the needs of the patient including: medical, nutritional, age, cultural, religious and ethical concerns.
  • Provides at minimum weekly individual nutritional counseling for patients and family (as needed).

  • Provides updates on the nutritional status of each patient weekly as part of team rounds/meetings and as requested.
  • Completes all required documentation and reports in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures.

  • Manages inventory and food ordering/restocking for weekly food orders.
  • Communicates effectively with other departments to provide the high-quality patient care.

 Education, Competencies and Credentials:

  • Strongly preferred Registered Dietitian with current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and up to date continuing education credits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics required; Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years nutrition counseling experience preferred.
  • Experience with eating disorder population preferred.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage all components of the non-residential site, including.
