Ruptures are often responsible for the reason people leave or do not enter relationships authentically at all—the therapeutic relationship is certainly no exception. Since relationship rupture refers to a break in the connection between two or more people, there are inevitable ruptures that occur when clients are in recovery from their eating disorder. Working within the therapeutic relationship, as clinicians we must be willing to tolerate our own potential discomfort to model and create a healing space for connection, disconnection, and reconnection. In this webinar, attendees will learn how to recognize their own strategies of disconnection and how relational growth can be fostered through the process.
