About the Training
While still a relatively novel DSM-5 diagnosis, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) is an eating disorder affecting children, teens, and adults with little guidance regarding evidence-based treatment to support recovery. Synthesizing Renfrew’s Unified Treatment Model and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ARFID (CBT-AR), this presentation will explore the impact of emotional avoidance on ARFID development and maintenance, and how to collaboratively engage clients in exposure therapy.
This 2CE seminar will offer practical tools for providers to utilize, such as developing a hierarchy and implementing tasters, with an emphasis on interoceptive awareness and tolerance.
