Supporting Clients and Families Through Holiday Stress: What to do When?

Wednesday, December 7, 2022 • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (ET)

Free | Professional Webinar
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (ET)

Presented by: Judith Ruskay Rabinor, PhD - Consultant, The Renfrew Center Foundation

Held Online

The holiday season often brings us moments of anticipation and celebration but, for families struggling with disordered eating, it can be a very stressful time of year. Holidays may stir up repetitive family dynamics including unpleasant memories, feelings of being judged or shamed, increased food triggers and taxing travel schedules.

Clinical vignettes, designed to help you address many of these common challenges, will provide you with the tools to integrate theories and techniques to support both clients and families. Attendees will explore how to involve family members whenever possible and will learn to recognize the importance of “training” rather than “blaming”. Tips on how to integrate psychoeducation into therapy in order to support families in navigating their holiday stressors will be addressed.
