Back to Basics:
Nutrition Counseling Skills for Eating Disorders

Presented by: Becky Mehr, MS, RD, CEDRD-S, LDN
Director of Outpatient Nutrition for The Renfrew Centers

Wednesday, January 8, 2020

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm (EST)

Nutrition counseling and eating disorder treatment go hand-in-hand and are often challenged by clients during sessions. In the midst of the many protocols now accessible for treatment, it may be difficult for providers to learn new skills for working with this complex population.

This webinar will provide a return to the basic counseling skills that have been so successful for use by dietitians, nutritionists and clinicians over the years. Participants will be able to recognize subtle eating disorder behaviors, set appropriate boundaries and enhance behavior change through motivational interviewing. Case examples will be introduced to assist attendees in bringing the basics back into their own practice.
