The Intersection of Food and Feelings:
Learning from Case Examples on Nutrition Therapy
Presented by: Jessica Berens, RD, LDN
Regional Nutrition Manager and Registered Dietitian
The Renfrew Center of Charlotte
Wednesday, August 19, 2020
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (EDT)
Individuals struggling with disordered eating often suffer from both physical and emotional consequences related to their symptomatic behaviors. With many protocols now accessible for treatment, it may be difficult for providers to acquire innovative skills and best practices for working with this complex population.
Through case study examples, this webinar will identify how emotions impact food choices in eating disorder clients. Attendees will learn to integrate counseling skills into their treatment approach to “go deeper” with their clients and better understand the importance of the link between nutrition and emotions. Additionally, medical diagnoses in complex client cases will be addressed through the utilization of a food and weight neutral approach.
