The Renfrew Centers of Philadelphia, PA and Coconut Creek, FL have been designated “Preferred” by United Behavioral Health operating under the brand Optum.
The Renfrew Centers residential eating disorder treatment facilities in Philadelphia, PA and Coconut Creek, FL have been designated as two of only three residential centers in the entire United States that are "Preferred" by United Behavioral Health operating under the brand Optum. The Optum-Preferred status distinguishes Renfrew's residential program for delivering both effective and efficient care, as well as its average length of inpatient stay, affordable consumer costs and success of patient step-downs to aftercare.
"I believe The Renfrew Center's residential eating disorder programs truly represent the epitome of what outstanding behavioral health care services can and should be," said Dr. Murray Zucker, Senior Medical Director, TelePsychServices. "Recognition of this type is not handed out lightly. In fact, from across the entire country, only one other facility has earned the Optum-Preferred distinction, and we're proud to say that The Renfrew Centers makes up two-thirds of this very elite group."
The Renfrew Center was presented with Optum-Preferred recognition based on clinical data collected by Optum over the course of two years. Optum looked at specific criteria, such as readmission rates, average length of inpatient stay, step-downs to aftercare as well as consumer costs, and compared The Renfrew Center's data nationally to that of other residential eating disorder facilities within the Optum network. Of the several key data points examined, The Renfrew Center exceeded virtually all metrics.
"We are extremely proud and honored to have received the Optum-Preferred status," said Samuel E. Menaged, JD, Founder and President of The Renfrew Centers. "It is truly a well-deserved acknowledgement of the great work being performed at our residential eating disorder treatment facilities. When clinicians refer their clients to one of our 17 locations across the country, they can be assured that the adolescent girl or woman is receiving the highest quality of care, in a warm and nurturing environment, backed by 30 years of clinical experience. That's the kind of trust we've built with our providers and this status reaffirms their trust in Renfrew."
