The Renfrew Center of Boston Now Open
The Renfrew Center announced today it opened a treatment facility in Boston, Massachusetts. The Renfrew Center, established in 1985, is the nation’s first residential eating disorder treatment facility and largest network of eating disorder treatment centers. The Boston facility, Renfrew’s 14th location, is located at 870R Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
The new site, like all of its centers, specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, EDNOS, binge eating disorder, and related mental illnesses. Programming at The Renfrew Center of Boston consists of a comprehensive range of services, including day treatment, intensive outpatient and group therapy. The site is under the leadership of Site Director Lori Grossman Ciotti, LICSW, and Clinical Supervisor Marilyn Newman, LICSW.
We are excited to bring our expertise to the Boston area,” said Samuel E. Menaged, JD, Founder and President of The Renfrew Centers. “We received feedback from the public and professionals, and observed an overwhelming demand for services, that made opening this site the obvious next step in empowering women to take back their lives.”
Renfrew’s treatment philosophy emphasizes a respect for the unique psychology of women, the importance of a collaborative therapeutic relationship, and the belief that every woman needs to actively participate in her own recovery. Susan Ice, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer; and Gayle Brooks, PhD, Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer; internationally recognized experts in the eating disorder field, oversee the clinical operations of Renfrew’s 14 locations.
The Renfrew Center, the pioneer in eating disorder treatment and research, has treated more than 65,000 women with eating disorders and other behavioral health issues and trained more than 25,000 professionals around the world.
