Body image dissatisfaction and distortion are key issues for most women and girls, not just those with an eating disorder. Unfortunately, few of us have peace of mind when it comes to our bodies and appearance – giving rise to body shame, body loathing, low self-esteem and a disconnection from our bodies.

Join us this month as Renfrew’s body image expert, Adrienne Ressler, helps you understand how body image develops and identify those milestones in your life that may have influenced how you feel living in your body. Recognizing how complex body image actually is (so much more than “I love” or “I hate” my body) will make it clear why perceptions of ourselves are so difficult to change. We will also discuss why we often feel “wrong” as we begin to feel better in recovery, and offer suggestions to help you make the shift from body loathing to body acceptance.
