This webinar will present attendees with critical information related to patient weight concerns within the eating disorder population. These may include set point theory, body mass index and weight fluctuations. Participants will be informed of the many barriers that affect weight specific goals in treatment, whether in terms of gaining or losing weight.
Through the use of case studies and specific strategies for demystifying communication between patient and clinician, participants will gain a greater understanding of how to support patients in navigating the complex issue of weight. Dietitians, nutritionists and clinicians alike will take away practical skills for working with the eating disorder population.
About the Presenter:
Becky Mehr, MS, RDN, CEDRD, LDN, is a Registered Dietitian at The Renfrew Center of Nashville and Regional Nutrition Manager for The Renfrew Centers. Ms. Mehr received her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Lipscomb University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Memphis. Her background experience covers a wide range of settings and populations including providing medical nutrition in an acute care facility and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
