Healing from an eating disorder and trauma is a complex and difficult process. Through the use of compassion, that process is enhanced when the clinician helps the client understand how the eating disorder has served as a protective response. This presentation will provide attendees with a trandiagnostic and Cognitive Processing Therapy approach to the treatment of adolescent girls and women with eating disorders and trauma. Attendees will learn the benefits that result when their clients are able to embrace strength and resiliency in tolerating and experiencing their emotions while staying anchored in the moment. Through the use of case examples, this workshop will address the themes of esteem, trust, intimacy, and control.
