Individuals with type 1 diabetes are 2.5 times more likely to develop an eating disorder, resulting in a dual diagnosis known as ED-DMT1.

This presentation will discuss identification of ED-DMT1 and provide attendees with guidelines and therapeutic interventions for treating both the physical and psychological components of ED-DMT1. Presentation content is appropriate and relevant for clinicians, dietitians, nutritionists, and medical professionals providing all levels of care.


About the Presenter:

Becky Mehr, MS, RDN, CEDRD, LDN, is Director of Outpatient Nutrition Services for The Renfrew Centers and a Registered Dietitian at The Renfrew Center of Nashville. Ms. Mehr received her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Lipscomb University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Memphis. Her background experience covers a wide range of settings and populations including providing medical nutrition in an acute care facility and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
