From clean eating to juice cleanses, from negative self-talk to the quest for perfection, nutrition myths and body dissatisfaction abound in our culture. This webinar offers an explanation of why so-called “healthy” diets may be appealing and examines the often-unintended consequences of buying in to their messages. The presenters will debunk the most common nutrition and diet myths and explore the concept of self-compassion and appreciation to enhance body acceptance. Attendees will receive tips for themselves and loved ones in decoding media messages that seek to motivate potential consumers by making them feel insecure about their bodies and, thus, buy more products.
