The Renfrew Center of Dallas invites you to join us for a lively discussion about both the challenges and benefits of living an authentic life. In contrast to the social media ‘highlight reels’ and self-censorship that dominate our online world, we hope you will choose this opportunity to participate in real conversation about relationships, body image, careers, family, and food.

The evening will focus on learning to let go of the need to “fit in” with societal norms and take risks to achieve a more fulfilling life.

Special presentation by a Renfrew Alumna, Lindsay Hall.

At this event, you will:

  • Explore the messages you receive about how you should look, act and feel
  • Identify where these messages come from: social media, family, friends, and community
  • Discuss the challenges and benefits of letting go of unrealistic expectations you may have for yourself
  • Learn how to take the steps to begin the process of speaking your truth and engage in unapologetic living

Lindsay Hall, Renfrew alumna, is a writer and mental health activist working to bring transparency to a community often clouded in shame. She has published articles and interviewed with numerous international publications, including The Today Show, Washington Post, Cosmopolitan, Daily News, Women’s Health Magazine, Refinery29, SheKnows and more. Lindsay has spoken at several colleges and eating disorder recovery events including NEDA walks nationwide, and has given numerous podcast/radio and television interviews covering any and all eating disorder topics.
